Incorporate Fun into Reading Activities
These days, it's hard to compete with the easily accessible entertainment of TV, movies and video games. But let’s not forget that reading a good book can be just as entertaining – if not more so, and it comes with so many lasting rewards.

Our children are continually growing and learning about the world around them, and as we move forward in the 21st century it will be even more valuable for them to achieve exceptional levels of literacy to participate in America’s high-skill workplaces.  The more our kids enjoy reading…the more they will read. The more they read…the better their literacy skills will become. That is our goal… to encourage every child to dive into a good book and discover how wonderful and fun it is to read, and then for them to want to keep discovering and keep reading!

Our books are creatively designed to provide reading and learning activities that are FUN! Activities that engage children and draw them in, encourage them to think, explore, ask, and ultimately enjoy reading.

A wonderful selection of new titles has just arrived, and there is something for everyone. Three new sticker books are like no other sticker books you’ve ever seen before: Historical Sticker Dolly Dressing 1920’s Fashion, Sticker Dressing Warriors, and Clothes & Fashion Sticker Book. For kids who like to draw and color, check out Drawing Doodling and Coloring – Fashion, First Dot-to-Dot Dinosaurs, and Wipe-Clean Doodles. Our 100 Paper Planes to Fold & Fly book was so popular last season that we are now launching 100 more Paper Planes to Fold & Fly. If your children have lots of questions – our lift-the-flap Questions & Answers book will provide hours of fun – discovering answers to questions like, “Why does the moon change shape?” and “Where do birds sleep?”. And finally – books for babies are highly important in developing good reading skills. Before a child can learn to read, they need to learn how to track things with their eyes, focus attention and interpret symbols. Baby’s Very First Little Library is a delightful box set of 4 books featuring bold, high-contrast illustrations that babies will love.

Share these new activity books with the children in your life, and watch their imagination and love of reading soar!

Kane Miller
All-Star Cheerleaders Series
by Anastasia Suen
Ages 8-12 years
Size: 5 x 7 3/4
approx. 96 pp
Paperback $4.99
Library $10.99

Book 1:  Tick Tock, Taylor:  It’s the first big competition for Taylor, Abby and the rest of the Glitter cheer squad from the Big D Elite gym. Competitions are nerve-wracking enough, but add in a teammate who is always perfect – and wants everyone else to be too – a slow back walkover and some intense competition and the Glitter squad will have to perform better than ever to take first place.

Anastasia Suen has written over 125 books for children, but Tick Tock, Taylor is the only one that makes her cheer! Go...Big D!

Book 2: Save the Best for Last, Abby:  The Glitter squad from Big D Elite gym is back in two new adventures that will have readers standing up to cheer!

It’s hard to be the oldest, especially when your younger sister complains about being last in everything, and everyone always says, “We saved the best for last,” even if it is a joke. But Abby’s little sister Emma isn’t just last – she’s a flyer! She’s the one everyone watches, so she’d better get this new routine right. And Abby has to help!

Book 3:  Just So, Brianna:  The Glitter squad from Big D Elite gym is back in two new adventures that will have readers standing up to cheer!

Brianna wants everything to be perfect, and that includes her cheer moves. She practices and practices, and even then, sometimes not everything is “just so.” But with some help from her big sister and the older girls from Big D Elite gym, Brianna learns that while practice makes perfect sometimes, other times it’s OK to do your best and just have fun!

Book 4:  Fly, Emma, Fly:  Emma and the Glitter Squad are competing in the Holiday Classic. But can she hold their new move? Practice is supposed to make perfect – will it work?

REVIEWS
"WOW. My 7 yr old daughter and I just got done reading this book tonight. It is about Jack, a boy who is being bullied in school. Author Susanne Gervay brilliantly combined fun humor and brave truth to create a book that MUST be put into all kids' hands!! Over the last few nights of reading this book, we laughed out loud (HARD at times!!), we talked about bullying in an understandable way, and I fought back the tears through half the book.
Books are SO powerful...the journey they take us on can change our lives. I am not exaggerating the effect of this book...if you have school-age kids in your life, you will not only want THEM to read it, YOU will also want to! This will be an excellent tool for any school/organization that wants to bring awareness to bullying!"  -T.Roach

"Every parent, teacher and student should read this book. It should be read together and discussed. It is so simple and yet so common.  Being bullied is so very horrible for a young person and their emerging self esteem. Bullying is real. Read this book! Maybe, just maybe it will help a "to be" bully not say the joke that really is not funny. Or maybe it will give the friend the courage to tell someone that can help. Or what if the victim found the courage to look the bully in the face and say no." - Nicole
